Band Bio:
THE HOOKS rose from the shipwreck, as it were, of Fisher Queen & the Hooks, which evolved out of Blue Axis, who for several years was one of Denver's hottest female-fronted Blues/R&B bands. This new, stripped-down version of the band is poised to drop its aggressive fusion of rock and blues back into Denver's turbulent musical waters. Be there when it happens.
TODD GILMORE, guitar & vocals
Hailing from the City of Brotherly Love, Todd left Art School to find out what it's like to be a tortured artist/songwriter in California (it's not much fun, in case you were wondering). For a short time in Boston he made a living in Top 40/wedding bands and occasionally froze his behind playing in the subway. He spent 11 years in North Carolina, where between illustration gigs he directed a rock orchestra for an annual Christmas show, and for a couple of years was a paid church music director. Todd plays Fender and Ibanez guitars through Fender and Marshall amps. Todd puts the POWER in power blues trio!
RICHIE FOELSCH, bass & vocals
Richie grew up a long, long time ago on the East Coast, where he was part of that bustling music scene, especially in the Big Apple. In 1983 he transplanted to Colorado, where he's been a part of numerous cover and original bands all over the front range. Don't let his childlike demeanor and youthful good looks deceive you - he brings a rare depth of maturity to the mix vocally and instrumentally. Richie's amps of choice include Peavey and Carvin, and his basses of choice are Fender and Music Man. Richie puts the BLUES in power blues trio!
KEVIN JOCHEM, drums
Kevin is a complete and unadulterated mystery. We haven't a clue where he came from - he was just there one day, providing the perfect pulse, pounding his way into our hearts. Whatever the style, he displays wisdom beyond his years, driving a tune forward with skill and conviction. Kevin plays on a Premier rig embellished with Zildjian and Paiste cybmals. No word on the sticks he uses - we often think he's back there banging away with baseball bats. Kevin puts the... uh... TRIO... in power blues trio...
